Castelldefels

Castelldefels is situated to the south of Barcelona. Its is a seaside town which thrives on tourism.  Nestled between the Llobregat Delta and the Garraf hills, Castelldefels is blessed with a warm Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and moderate summers. The net result is over 300 days of sunshine per year. The town has nearly 5 kilometres of wide  beach (average width of 90 metres and a total area of 500,000 sq m ) one side bordered by the long Paseo Maritimo. The promenade has been restored to its original Mediterranean seaside charm, with large natural spaces such as the Plaza de las Palmeras or the Parc del Mar allowing leisure and entertainment activities to take place.

This is a town with great future potential, yet with its roots in a 1000 year old history, symbolised by the medieval castle which gives the town its name. Castelldefels and its castle have been in many film productions, especially in advertisements, owing to many factors: for its  location, for ease of road and rail access (15 minutes from Barcelona and 10 minutes from El Prat airport) and also for its good network of hotels and restaurants, which have the capacity to provide a high level of service to visiting film production teams.
